AFT 100 Tractor mounted trencher

The AFT 100 tractor mounted trencher is a rugged and powerful trencher designed to fit onto the 3-point linkage of tractors of 60 to 120 hp (45-90Kw).

This is a very versatile trencher for agricultural and sports turf drainage as well as for pipe and cable laying.

The AFT 100 has been constructed in modular form with a wide range of options to suit a great variety of jobs and different tractors.

Trench width are easily adaptable from 125 to 300mm with standard single boom, and to 550mm for the twin boom version. Maximum depth (single boom): 160cm.

IT OFFERS:

• High speed trenching - up to ten times faster than conventional backhoes.
  
  
• Cuts the narrowest trench size necessary for the job. Narrow trenches reduce reinstatement and backfill material costs.
  
  
• Mounted on a standard multi-purpose agricultural tractor, it costs only a fraction of the price of equivalent self propelled trenchers and also represents important saving in operating expenses as well as in maintenance costs.
  
  
• Twin soil augers place the finely cut soil neatly close to both sides of the trench for easy backfilling.
  
  
• The optional soil clear up system completely removes all soil and elevates it to trailers running alongside the trencher. The conveyor swings back within the width of the tractor for road transport and storage.
  
  
• Choice of 75 mm pitch heavy duty digging chain for normal conditions or 102 mm pitch fully carbide tipped alligator chain for very hard or abrasive conditions.
  
  
• Optional built-in hydraulic creep speed drive for tractors without creep speed gear boxes, giving a speed range 0-300 m/hr.
  
  
• Continuously variable hydraulic depth control is either manual or can be linked to a laser for accurate grading.
  
  
• A Range of pipe chutes and pipe reel carriers available.
  
  
• Crumber with parallel self correcting linkage to maintain accurate trench bottom cleaning.
  
  
  
  

SPECIFICATIONS 

DIGGING CHAIN. AND TEETH
75 mm pitch heavy duty fully detachable roller digging chain fitted with hard faced austempered silicon manganese spring steel cutting blades, with optional tungsten carbide teeth for hard or abrasive soils.

ALTERNATIVE
102 mm pitch alligator chain fitted with tungsten carbide teeth for very hard conditions and for trenching in roads.

TRENCH SIZES
4 single digging booms are available which will dig down to maximum depths of 1.0, 1.2, 1.4 or 1.6 meters. Digging blades and teeth can be fitted to dig trenches 125, 150, 200, 250 or 300mm wide. Three twin digging booms are available for maximum digging depths of 1.0, 1.2 or 1.4 meters and widths of 175 to 550mm.

DEPTH CONTROL
Depth adjustment is by twin hydraulic rams which can be manually operated or linked to automatic laser grading systems with a solenoid valve.

TRANSMISSION
The digging chain is driven by the tractor PTO shaft through an adjustable torque limiting safety clutch and right angle gear box. Different splines are available to suit your tractor.

SOIL CLEAR UP SYSTEM
Two hydraulically driven conveyors are available with discharge heights of 1.5 or 1.8 meters.

PIPE AND CABLE LAYING CHUTES
Three sizes which will feed, and lay cables or perforated land drainage pipes of up to 80, 110 or 150 mm diameter.

TRACTOR REQUIREMENTS
Power: 60 to 120 hp (45-90 Kw).
Three point linkage: category 2 or 3.
PTO shaft 540 or 1000 rpm.
Counterbalance weights are normally required on tractors up to 80 hp. A hydraulic supply of at least 35 litres/minute at 150 bar is required for depth control and to power either the soil conveyor system or hydraulic creep speed drive. A reduction gear box of 10:1 or more is recommended . If not available on the tractor, the optional Creep Speed Drive can be built into the trencher. (Not for use with turf tyres)
