AFT 65 Tractor mounted trencher

The AFT 65 is a rugged high performance chain trencher designed to mount onto the 3-point linkage of tractors of 50 to 80 hp (30-60 Kw) without any modification to the standard tractor.
The AFT65 has been constructed in modular form with a wide range of options to suit a great variety of jobs and different tractors
The ideal trencher for pipe and cable laying contractors, municipal authorities, agricultural contractors, farmers and anyone with trenches to cut and a standard tractor available.

75 mm pitch heavy duty fully detachable roller digging chain fitted with hard faced austempered silicon manganese spring steel cuffing teeth, with optional tungsten carbide pick teeth for hard, abrasive soils.

TRENCH SIZES
A choice of 4 digging booms is available which will dig down to maximum depths of 1.00, 1.15, 1.30 or 1.45 metres. Digging teeth can be fitted to dig trenches 125, 150, 200, 250, or 300mm wide.

Twin booms and chains to dig trenches of 350, 400 or 450 mm wide down to 1 metre deep can be fitted as an alternative.

DEPTH CONTROL
Depth adjustment is by means of an hydraulic cylinder which can be manually operated from the tractor valve lever or linked to automatic laser grading systems with a solenoid valve.

TRANSMISSION
The digging chain is driven by the tractor PTO shaft through a torque limiting safety clutch and right angle gear box. Different splines are available to suit your tractor.

PIPE LAYING CHUTE
Three sizes which will feed, and lay perforated land drainage pipes up to 80, 110 or 150mm diameter

WEIGHT
from 900-1100 Kg depending on optional systems fitted.

 
TRACTOR REQUIREMENTS
Power: 50 to 80 hp (35-60 kW)
Three-point linkage: category: 2 or 3.
PTO shaft: 540 rpm.
A front mounted backfill blade or counterbalance weights are normally required.
A reduction gear box of 10:1 or more is recommended . If not available, the optional Creep Speed Drive can be built into the trencher. (Not for use with turf tyres) With the built-in creep speed drive, the maximum trenching speed will be controlled by the hydraulic supply provided by the tractor: 25 Lt/min gives a maximum speed of approx. 165 mtr/hr and 45 Lt/min around 300 mtr/hr.
