AFT WizzWheel

The tractor mounted wizzwheel is a rugged and powerful slit trencher designed to fit onto the three-point linkage of tractors of 60 to 120 hp (45-90Kw).

With ever increasing demands made on today's sport surfaces comes the need to improve sports turf surface drainage to ever higher standards.

SPECIFICATIONS 

CUTTING WHEEL
The solid, large diameter digging wheel is fitted with 10 angled pockets, each one rigidly supporting a digging blade, which then only needs a spring pin to hold it firmly in place.

DIGGING BLADES AND TEETH
The reversible hard faced austempered silicon manganese spring steel digging blades have cutting edges on both sides to double their working life. For hard conditions, double pointed tungsten carbide teeth can be fitted in some or all of the pockets. An alternative system, for digging in very hard conditions can be fitted to the same wheel, consisting of special carriers, each of which holds 3 or 4 replaceable carbide bullet teeth.

The unique angled pockets on the solid digging wheel allow quick and easy changing of the digging blades with a simple hammer and punch.

TRENCH SIZES
30, 40, 50, 70, 95 or 125mm wide and up to a depth of 550 mm.

DEPTH CONTROL
Depth control adjustment is by means of a hydraulic ram which can be manually controlled or linked to automatic laser grading systems. The exact digging depth is indicated by a grading scale which can easily be seen by the tractor driver.

TRANSMISSION
The digging wheel is driven by the PTO shaft of the tractor through an adjustable torque limiter and a solid right angle gear box. The avoidance of any form of chain transmission improves reliability and reduces maintenance costs.

SOIL CLEAR-UP SYSTEM
The digging wheel is completely enclosed above ground and the soil is collected onto a high level conveyor to dump it straight into a trailer running alongside. The conveyor can be lifted into a vertical position to reduce the total width of the WIZZWHEEL to under 1.6 metres for road transport and storage.

PIPE CHUTES AND CARRIERS
A range of pipe and cable chutes and reel carriers is available.

TRACTOR REQUIREMENTS
Power: 45-90 kW (60-120 HP)
Three point linkage: category 2 or 3. PTO shaft: 540 or 1000 rpm. A hydraulic supply of at least 35 litres/minute at 150 Bar is required to power the soil elevator and the depth control. A reduction gear box of at least 4:1 is recommended and will be required for larger trench sizes. Smaller trenches can often be cut without using a reduction gear box when digging conditions are favourable.
