Frequently Asked Questions
Can the MH45 go on any excavator?
The MH45 requires a minimum of an 8-tonne excavator with direct and continuous hydraulic oil supply of 100-150 L/min at 160-180 bar.
Is the MH45 easy to maintain?
Yes, any skilled excavator driver can easily maintain the MH45.
How long will the chain last?
It is very difficult to estimate the life duration of the chain as it varies greatly depending on soil conditions, depth and width of the trench, chain tension, etc.
How will the chain cope with stones?
The MH45 has been designed to cope with various ground conditions, and it can cut through or pull out small stones (if you are looking to dig through asphalt or larger stones you will need the larger MH100 hydraulic trencher).
Do you have second-hand machines available?
Yes, we sometimes do. Please contact us to find out.
What is the typical speed of trenching?
Typically 50 to 75 metres/hour depending on soil conditions.
What if I only have a backhoe or a tractor?
- You have a backhoe: Check your oil flow vs. the MH45 requirement.
- You have a tractor: We can recommend our AFT45 trencher that operates with a compact 30+ HP tractor.
Where are your machines manufactured?
Our machines are manufactured at our factory in Sudbury, Suffolk, UK.
